Here in Australia many regional towns and cities are upset with main highways travelling through their streets, in which they say cause inconvenience to their lives. I say what a whole lot of rubbish. Without major highways and freeways, towns and cities will not be able to survive; they will of course become ghost towns. This means lost of business and prosperity, and the growth of areas that sustain its inhabitants. Main roads that bypass regional cities and towns will be death of regional cities, and especially small towns. I just don’t think people realise what damage such changes will do..
