America has the largest stockpile of nuclear warheads, thus the largest stockpile of Weapons of mass destruction. The American administrations over time have called for certain nations to disarm and to stop nuclear aspirations. It is also noticeable that some countries are not publicly condemned for creating nuclear weapons, and are also not stopped in any way or form. To me this looks like there are rules for some, and a different rules for others. The US government at this time is calling for Iran to disarm or stop the uranium conversion process. The U.S is also attempting to prevent North Korea from obtaining or using nuclear weapons.Another important issue is the second Iraq war, where the excuse for war was Sadam apparent stockpile of WMDs, which clearly the world knows no longer existed during the time of the invasion. This issue of course delves deeper then WMDS. This is all well and good, however should America call for other unstable nations to disarm their nuclear weapon stockpiles such as China, Pakistan, and India or for that matter all nuclear nations? Should America practice what they preach, and disarm some of there nuclear weapons? I do wonder why the US have so many nuclear weapons, it is almost like they preparing for a coming alien invasion. Some might say the large stockpile of nuclear weapons is a defence strategy, a deterrent for national security purposes. But do they really need over 10000 nuclear warheads? I have a belief that countries that view the U.S as a potential threat, and understand the US is a nuclear power feel somewhat inferior and obsolete. In turn the feeling of being threatened pushes rogue nations to creates their own deterrent for their own national security, thus having and creating nuclear aspirations for their own protection.
