Wacky Blogs – Explosive Condoms

News of the crazy and absurd kind is always enjoyable to read. The first wacky news blog off the blocks belongs to Des Moines Area Community College in the state of Iowa America. A suspicious package appeared on campus causing concern for officials who subsequently evacuated staff and students from the area. Police and Postal inspectors were called to the scene, and what they discovered was no bomb, but 500 condoms in a box. What we do know is, someone was indeed in for an explosive time, what form that took is up to the imagination.

Emo World - A Pathetic Subculture

Emo’s short for emotionals, the ever growing teenage subculture are starting to come under some increased public coverage. Recently in Australia two young girls aligned with the Emo subculture, took there lives in a suicide pact. The Girls who had introverted personalities lived there social lives on the internet using Myspace to communicate. A place to chat and discuss feelings with other troubled Emo’s. The questions have to be asked why such a culture exists, and are the values created within this teenage subculture real or just followed by people for the sake of it. Aligning one self with Emoism seems to detached members from reality. Emo’s conform them selves into hating there parents, hating the world and feeling alone. Pathetic are the people who desire to follows these values for no reason but to do so for the pleasure of being apart of the Emo fad. In a desire to become individual, emoism has caused members to be insignificant, apart of the crowd. It almost defeats the purpose. I think the Emo movement should change direction, where the only emotion practiced is trying to be happy. Emo’s could begin to like themselves, love there parents, and love the world they live in. It would certainly make a pathetic teenage subculture well, less pathetic.

Nova 100 Provides Cigarette Products To Children

Melbourne radio station Nova 100 were giving out promotional freebies today at the Glen Waverley Met train station to predominately school children going home. A part of the promotional pack was a product to held cigarettes and cigarettes butts. Its quite interesting that Nova 100 Melbourne would give underage children cigarette products. Are they condoning cigarette smoking for children?

Drought Breaking Rain

The southern states of Australia are about to receive some drought relieving rain, in some areas said to receive the heaviest rain in many years. The warming of the Indian Ocean has caused more moisture and rain to develop, thus a chance of more showers to come. Experts say more rain has to occur over the next few weeks to really break the drought and ease the pain of farmers.

Big Brother Uncut & Shutdown

Big Brother has conceded to the prudes of Australia. The reaction of conservatives around Australia during the BB06 was absurd. The media took the bait, spread the conservative tripe and on the controversy went to Australian federal parliament. The fear mongering was unleashed, and the children card was put into the arena. The old “think of the children” dribble was initiated in public debate, and Big Brother folded under pressure. Conceding to the prudes of Australia the Big Brother format no longer consist of controversial program Big Brother Uncut. It now obtains over zealous censoring, prim and proper house mates who are undiversified in selection. Big Brother who started its 7th series on Sunday on Channel Ten to lower then expected audiences, surprised many to the somewhat unsurprising format to the apparently new and improved Big Brother. Big Brother have not only not created anything new, but cut back on the original Brother Format. Big Brother will need to improve, otherwise no one will be watching.

Myspace Popularity Today & Tomorrow

Neely Ohara is a part of the world of myspace. A world of intertwined people networks, where connections to new friends abroad and close to home increasingly thrive and grow. The number of members joined to the News Corp owned myspace internet site has skyrocketed into the hundreds of millions. Just about every person on earth and there dog have a myspace profile, securing it self nicely within our modern pop culture.
Neely Ohara with her now 3000 plus friends, enjoys the feeling she obtains from the community and the appreciation from her personal myspace empire. Neely, a self confessed internet junky joined myspace back in 2003 at time when myspace was not so entrenched in popular culture. Neely and her loyal followers of internet friends have made Neely somewhat of an internet celebrity, and within her local community she experiences people noticing her from her myspace profile. Neely admittedly an introvert expresses her self more greatly through the myspace virtual world, then in her real life social situations.
You have to wonder though, are myspace friends really friends. The ratio of real life friends, and people that are added randomly would fall on the side of the latter.
Myspace with an increased popularity over the last two years has had the novelty wear off for many who used to use the site frequently. Is the myspace revolution coming to the end?
Why do people use myspace, will you keep using myspace?

A Ghost Image Through A Window

A ghostly face appeared in a photo I captured tonight. It was an eerie face of an old bald man, with a moustache and glasses looking at me through the window. I took the picture for amusement, as I and my housemate joked of mysterious things happening in our backyard. Either it was a formation created outside the window, or a smudge on the window it self, the image still frighteningly eerie.
Yes I know, my windows needs cleaning!

33 Killed at Virginia Tech, 3000 Killed in Iraq

The United States is in mourning, and the world is in shock over the 33 people killed at Virginia Tech, in the worst school shooting in America’s history. Sympathy’s through out the world to the victims involved have eventuated, including President Bush conveying is sadness to the America people. I wonder however, does the President mourn the deaths of the 3000 American soldiers killed in Iraq, as much as he respectfully should. Does the President respectfully convey his sadness for lives destroyed, families turn apart. As the mourning for the 32 people killed at Virginia tech continues, I hope as much mourning occurs for the thousands of soldiers and people in Iraq and Afghanistan who loose there lives each day. A lost caused by President Bush’s incompetence and selfish sacrifice of others for his own fanatical agenda.

Global Warming Solution - Harvest Icebergs

Australia is experiencing its worst drought in history, and water resources are disappearing fast. Global warming is having a detrimental effect on Australia and the world with a quick fix solution few and far between. I have an idea to use the effects of global warming for the benefit of nations in drought, and countries experiencing the threat of rising sea waters due to the melting of polar ice caps. What we need to do is harvest in some manner the ice caps in Antarctica and other areas that may be prone to melting. Massive ships process the ice, and bring back to countries like Australia to replenish dwindling water supplies. It solves the drought issue and the flooding issue it’s all just too easy, well sort of. We could harvest the ice, or we could all just turn off the lights, lock up our cars and wait for the climate to change and the rain to fall. Raindance anyone?

The Vet, a Polar Bear, and the Bumbling President

The world is safe again, the Taiwanese vets arm is now attached, the pommy soldiers are free, the polar bear Knut is still alive, and George Bush loses any credibility he has left by the day. All the world needs now is the war over in Iraq, the leaders that instigated the war out of power, a cure for obesity Aids and cancer, global warming to stop, and of course world stability. I was going to say world peace, but I am afraid I am not wearing a swimsuit. On the note of what should happen to make the world better place, stay tuned to bloggers of the world, they will let you know the truth.

Crocodile Eats Vets Arm

A Veterinarian in Taiwan had his arm ripped off by a sick crocodile. A Taiwanese police officer had to shoot the croc at an attempt to remove the severed limb from the crocodile’s jaws. Bugger, I must remember never give a crocodile a hand when it’s in trouble.

New Zealand A State Of Australia?

Living in peace side by side for a few hundred years, Australia and New Zealand are two nations culturally and physically similar. A Kiwi traveling the world could be easily mistaken for an Aussie and vice versa. There was a time in the early days of colonization and the federation where New Zealand could have joined the great land mass across the Tasman Sea as a state of Australia. Clearly that did not occur, and NZ has matured into a quaint successful country. Recently an Australian federal parliamentary committee had discussion on the unification of the two nations economically and geographically, whilst remaining sovereign nations, similar to the European Union. The Anzac Union, with an Anzac currency, would be great for the economy of the two nations, increases its stance in the world. Even more optimistic would envision a Pacific Union, including NZ and other nations of the region. Should New Zealand join Australia in some form or another?

Defense Report - Sadam No links with al-Qaeda

"INTERROGATIONS of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and documents seized after the 2003 US-led invasion confirmed that his regime had not been cooperating with al-Qaeda, the Washington Post reported today." http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,21514434-2,00.html Added with the known fact that Iraq had no WMDs, and added with the intelligence report that the war has caused more terrorism. President Bush, Prime Minister Howard and Blair are the biggest failures of all time.

Blog Name Mix UP

I Blog name, Aussie Blogs was created all the way back in the year 2004. It was a time before blogs were popular in Australia and the world, and I was proud to snatch such a cool name for my blog. I see though the name Aussie Blogs or Australian Blogs has been used for sites indexing blogs, blog searching engines or what not. So I think my blog gets passed over for being a blogger publisher, indexers, or search engine site. I AM A BLOGGER, HERE ME, HERE ME NOW!!! Ok got that’s off my chest. I would also like to ask blog viewers out there, why don’t you people comment every now and then. I mean I know your there, but no hello, how rude!

15 British Soldiers Freed

Congrats to the Brits, they must be applauded for there success in this situation. Foolish governments like America or Israel would have started WW3 already and killed many innocent lives if they were in such situation.

News Media To Howards Rescue

The Australian government and its Prime Minister John Howard are drastically behind in the polls, and unfortunately for them the election is just around the corner. The opposition leader Kevin Rudd is storming ahead in the polls, both in party and the Prime Minister preferred stakes. I have noticed as the election draws near and the opposition increases there poll numbers, the usual conservative media organization produces bias news in favour of the Howard government. This is more evident in the news site that I actually frequent many times, a website apart of the right wing company News Ltd, News.com.au. News stories slanted In favour of the conservative Liberal party will increase even more as the election moves closer, by news organisations such as News.com.au, Heralds sun, other news Ltd papers, Channel Nine, and SKY News Australia. People just have to be wary to state the obvious, do not believe what the media tells you.

Tsunami Warning For OZ!

I would suggest any Aussie’s near or thinking of going near the beach on the east coast of Australia might think of retreating back inland for safety. An 8.1 earthquake hit the Solomon Islands early this morning, sending a tsunami across the pacific. The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that a wave could hit mainland Australia around 9.30am Aus time.
